As someone who didn't play the original to the end, when I first listened this, it gave me shivers. It truly feels not only like you're approaching the end, but also while it's all quite mysterious and unnerving, it also has some drive of determination and hope of the past attached to it. The leitmotif of the extended part goes strong as the place is supposed to tell you a story. THE story. The original is just plain mysterious and unnerving. It's just ruined for me. This feels so much more fitting for the overall celestial atmosphere of the location.

After coming out of TEC's room when the red lights were on, I walked to the nearby room where Peach was held captive (she's not there at that time due to being taken away by Grodus) to have a look before slowly walk to the teleporter. It's like saying goodbye to the base one last time before taking a teleporter. And the base, TEC, are gone. This music, I didn't cry. But it hits right in my heart. That feels!
